Q&A

WHO:

To start with, who always includes me but beyond that it is completely up to you.  Just your children, you and your children, grandparents and children, grandparents, you and your children, cousins, aunts, uncles, the list of options is endless.

WHAT:

What you get is a fun filled photography session. Sessions are run as playtime with the kids and the more fun you have the more beautiful photos you have to choose from. Generally sessions last an hour and a half (but are never rushed) and you are encouraged to play, love, laugh, tickle and simply spend the time having fun with your family while leaving the rest up to me.

WHERE:

Photography sessions are usually conducted in your home. Your home is the most comfortable and relaxed place for your children.  Other locations are not out of the question though, parks, pools, playgrounds, grandparent’s houses all make for great backdrops and can be utilised both for entire sessions or in conjunction with each other.

WHEN:

You tell me.  Spit & Giggle are flexible! We are about the children, and through the whole process the children’s needs are at the forefront of our minds. Date, time, location and activities should all be geared to what is best for the children, not the photographer (Assuming we aren’t booked out and it isn’t 2 in the morning). Photography sessions are available Sunday to Friday.

WHY:

Why use a professional photographer?

There are hundreds of reasons why you should choose a professional photographer to photograph your family (and I suggest searching online about why and what to look for) but I want to tell you what I personally think and can personally offer.

As a professional I have the equipment; a full set of Canon equipment and high tech digital processing studio, I have the training; a 3 year Advanced Diploma of Photography as well as a 3 month international photojournalism internship and I have quality control; a colour synced work flow from the studio to my professional printing lab as well as gallery standard quality framing.  To all of that I offer you my experience, my knowledge and above all else my skill.  I truly believe in my talent and myself and I promise that you will be thrilled with the images you receive.

From the point of view of a parent I give you this… as my 1 year old is growing up I struggle between photographing or not. Every day I want to jump up and photograph him growing, his smile, his frown and his new skill but I know in the moment if I get up I am no longer a part of it, I miss out as I see it through the camera on the outside. At the same time if I don’t get up to photograph that moment I am a part of it and love and happiness fills my heart but I know that I will not have captured it on camera to cherish for a lifetime. It is for that reason I urge everyone to at least once hire a professional to capture those moments, so that you can have the best of both worlds.
